FAQ
Most frequently asked questions and answers regarding Chemical Peels
Chemical peels can improve the skin’s appearance. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which makes it slightly red and dry. Over the course of the next few days, your skin will gently peel off, leaving rejuvenated skin to appear. The new skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
Upon arrival at your appointment, you will receive a full consultation discussing what your goals are after your chemical peel treatment. A topical numbing cream using lidocaine will be applied to the areas to be treated. The skin will be cleansed with an antiseptic. Then your eyes will be protected by wearing disposable goggles. You will be relaxed and reclined as the specific chemicals are applied to your face in a timed and controlled manner over the course of a few minutes. You may notice a slightly uncomfortable stinging or burning sensation, like a sun burn. After the application, cool clothes are applied to your face and you are soothed with a fan. Most people find the procedure very tolerable and easy.
