FAQ
Most frequently asked questions and answers regarding Daxxify
Daxxify is a “Botox” alternative that lasts 6-9 months. Bothersome fine lines and wrinkles caused by facial motion (such as forehead wrinkles, frown lines, crow’s feet, and smoker’s lines around the mouth) are smoothed and sometimes even disappear. Getting Daxxify is quick and causes minimal pain.
Upon arrival at your appointment, you will receive a full consultation discussing what your goals are after receiving Daxxify injections. A topical numbing cream using lidocaine will be applied to the areas to be treated. The skin will be cleansed with an antiseptic. Then using a very thin needle, the Daxxify will be injected very superficially into specific muscles that are contributing to your fine lines and wrinkles of concern. Typically, the injections cause minimal pain. You may notice minor bruising after the procedure that is temporary.
- Horizontal forehead wrinkles
- Scowl lines (or “11s”) – the lines that form between your eyebrows
- Crow’s feet and under eye region
- Fine lines around lips
- Bunny lines on the sides of the nose
- Nefertiti necklift (botox to help appearance of neck)
- Botox around eyelids to decrease lower lid “bulging”
- Masseter injections (to make face more heart-shaped)
- Mentalis Injections (to smooth chin)
Alternative procedures to help with the above listed conditions include other non-invasive treatments we also offer such as filler and microneedling. However, for wrinkles that are more “active” in nature, Daxxify may produce superior results. Active wrinkles are ones that are more noticeable with certain movements of the face. Other procedures include invasive surgical procedures (i.e. facelifts) that are much more costly, dangerous, and time-intensive.
Many dermatologists, doctors, and even salons and spas offer botox treatments, but in the hands of an unskilled provider results can be unsatisfactory. The physicians at Southern Vanity are superiorly trained in cosmetics. Not only do our providers have a superior knowledge of anatomy of the face, but also high-volume experience with botox. Our providers also can perform more advanced botox techniques (listed above), which not many providers are trained to do.
